What is Station 53A?

Station 53A is a 1.7-acre, fully immersive post-apocalyptic film and photography set in the UK. Designed around raw industrial decay, it provides atmospheric, ready-to-shoot backdrops for dystopian, sci-fi, horror, and urban productions.

Where is the location situated, and is it easy to reach?

It is located near Bicester (Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire border), approximately 20 minutes from Junction 9 of the M40. It offers quick access from London, Birmingham, and major UK production hubs while maintaining a isolated setting.

What spaces/zones are available on site?

The site features eight distinct zones:

  • Desolation Alley (Open urban wasteland corridor/entrance)
  • Dystopia (Dark, high-tension industrial space)
  • The Workshop (Mechanical set with old tools and broken machinery)
  • The Decontamination Room (Stark, sterile, isolation-themed interior)
  • The Dead Zone (Eerie, open cinematic space)
  • The Wash House (Damp, shadowy interior ideal for thrillers)
  • The Dungeon (Claustrophobic space for horror sequences)
  • Narnia (A surreal contrast to the surrounding decay)

On-Site Facilities & Amenities

Is parking available on site?

Yes. Station 53A provides free parking for up to 5 cars. If your crew requires additional parking, please notify the team as soon as possible during booking so arrangements can be made.

Are there toilet facilities available?

Yes, toilet facilities are available on-site for cast and crew.

Are refreshments provided?

Yes. Complimentary tea, coffee, and water are made available to you and your group throughout the session.

Booking & Pricing

What are the hire rates for Station 53A?

  • Half Day Morning (9am – 1pm): £175.00
  • Half Day Afternoon (1pm – 5pm): £175.00
  • Full Day Session (9am – 5pm): £300.00
  • Evening Session (5pm – Midnight): £400.00
  • Night Shoot (Midnight – 5am): £125.00 per hour

How do I book a shoot?

Email contact@station53a.co.uk with your preferred dates, time slots, and a brief description of your project. The team will provisionally reserve your slot and send over payment details.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A £100 deposit is required to lock in your booking. This deposit is fully refundable within 48 hours following your session, provided the set is left undamaged and in good condition.

Can I arrange a recce (location tour) before booking?

Yes. Location scouts, directors, and photographers are encouraged to book a pre-production walk-through to plan shot lists and check logistics.

Props, Vehicles & Custom Services

Are vehicles and props provided on site?

Yes. Station 53A houses a range of custom props, wasteland armor/garb, and production-ready custom vehicles (including their signature Decapitan and Kittypocalypse builds).

Do you offer additional creative or FX services?

Yes. On-site services include custom prop design, specialized SFX makeup (wasteland distressing, radiation/mutant effects, bloodwork), and art direction support.
